I’ve just finished Aravind Adiga’s The White Tiger. It is rather an angry book, but with lots to amuse you – especially if you’ve travelled to India as I have.
The whole concept of the “chicken coop” in the book is really fascinating – how nobody can rise in society because people are bound by their caste or status – not just by history but by family/societal expectations. Rise above your status, and risk retribution being brought down on your nearest and dearest by those you might have harmed or offended on your audacious way up. Food for thought!
